Is George Michael’s Life About to Go……Wham!?

Gone are the fluorescent gloves, the baggy ‘Choose Life’ T-shirt and the mop of highlighted flyaway hair of the George Michael we all fell in love with back in the early 1980’s, now replaced with baggy eyes covered by dark glasses, dull boring unkempt clothes and shoes more befitting a octogenarian pensioner. That’s the new style of the Careless Whisper singer as his life appears to be spinning out of control into a drug, drink and generally badly behaved lifestyle.

In the past 12 months we’ve observed the demise of other 1980’s pop icons such as Boy George and Michael Jackson due to drugs and outrageous acts, so are we now about to see George’s life go the same way?

As George was breathalysed and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs on Saturday, just two months after getting his driving license back the former Wham! Band member insists he was ‘stone cold sober’. But even given that that is true, why would Michael be steaming up the UK’s A34 in his £60,000 Range Rover, at a staggering 100mph in the early hours of the morning and eventually wind up careering into the rear of a seven-ton Volvo 440 articulated lorry?

Forty six year old George evidently needs to take a long look at his life following his arrest in October 2006 which earned him a two-year driving ban, his license taken away and a 100 hours community service sentence after he was found slumped at the wheel of his Mercedes in North London, and after being charged in June of the following year with driving while unfit due to a combination of tiredness and prescription drugs in his system.
