Taylor Swift: Honored at CMT Artists of the Year

Sunday, April 10, 2011

The country music world has always been a great place for artists, and last night (November 30) Taylor Swift was in the house for the CMT Artists of the Year shindig.
The “Mean” songstress looked to be in good spirits as she arrived at The Factory in Franklin, Tennessee - as Taylor happened to be one of the night’s honorees.
In related news, Taylor was spotted having coffee with Jake Gyllenhaal at the Frothy Monkey in Nashville on Tuesday at 10am.
An eyewitness told press, "Apparently Jake likes a cappuccino with maple syrup. Frothy has the real deal in the maple syrup department."

Demi Lovato Discusses Eating Disorder Struggle

Posted April 9th, 2011
Hoping to provide some insight and inspiration to fellow teenage girls, Demi Lovato opened up about her personal struggle with an eating disorder.
The new "Seventeen" magazine contributing editor offered this to readers, “If you are going through that dark period, go to your family and closest friends. Don’t put yourself in danger. It’s very crucial that you get your feelings out - but don’t ever inflict harm on your own body because your body is so sacred. I wish I could tell every young girl with an eating disorder, or who has harmed herself in any way, that she’s worthy of life and that her life has meaning. You can overcome and get through anything.”
Revealing the constant temptation to fall back on old habits, she told, “Yes, there have been times when I definitely have been tempted to get rid of my dinner. But I will deal with it for the rest of my life because it’s a life-long disease. I don’t think there’s going to be a day when I don’t think about food or my body, but I’m living with it, and I wish I could tell young girls to find their safe place and stay with it.”
Demi also disclosed the steps she takes to keep herself safe, saying, “I don’t let anyone’s insecurities, emotions, or opinions bother me. I know that if I am happy, that’s all that matters to me. And it’s okay to be selfish like that sometimes, when it comes to your well-being. Do what makes you happy, and don’t care what others think.”

Does Idol's Pia Toscano Already Have a Record Deal?

Pia Toscano, American Idol Ray Mickshaw/Fox
Has "something better" already arrived for Pia Toscano?
Just days after her shocking elimination from American Idol (and Jennifer Lopez's consoling comment about better things to come), reports are circulating that Toscano has signed a record deal with Interscope Records.
Is it true? We've got the scoop on the situation...
MORE: Pia Toscano's Idol Elimination Shocked Everyone But Pia Toscano, Who Says She "Kind of Expected It"
Toscano's rep tells us that chatter about a done deal is "all rumor," but E! News has learned that while a record contract hasn't been signed just yet, Interscope does want to produce a single with Toscano and release it while American Idol is still on.
19 Management has yet to approve this, however.
Once 19 Management figures out their marketing plan for Toscano, though, Interscope Records exec Jimmy Iovine wants to get her in the studio to record a single asap, according to an Idol insider.
Toscano would likely work with a few producers to find the right song for her, including Idol producers Rodney Jerkins and Rock Mafia (Tim James + Antonina Armato). Rock Mafia, who have worked with contestants James, Stefano, Lauren and Haley, produced Pia's memorable performance earlier this season of Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down."
"Pia wants a song that captures that kind of magic," our source said.
