Celine Dion’s Legacy To Go On!

As the French Canadian born songbird, Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil announce the news that Ms Dion is set to become a mother once again, it must also be viewed as a trifle frightening for a man of 67 to be entering his retirement years with the prospect of attending school nativity plays, sports days and baseball games while depending on a wheelchair or at best a walker!

Dion herself is not in the first flush of youth either, at the age of 41, and having tried previously for 6 years to achieve her first child, Rene Charles, who was born in 2001 after undergoing a round of fertility treatment, her second pregnancy must also be seen as a message from Mother Nature that maybe its not a good age to be bringing a baby into the mix, after once again, the happy couple decided to enter into a program of in vitro fertilization to achieve the latest pregnancy.

Evidently it has been in the mind of the ‘The Heart Does Go On’ singer, to have another child as she revealed in her own simpering, poetical manner to Oprah Winfrey way back in 2004, “We have a little embryo in New York which was produced at the same time as René-Charles. To be honest with you, there’s no way for me as a mom, knowing that this embryo is part of René and me and is waiting for us in this iceberg…I need to bring this baby to the sun…I have to give it a try.”

With icebergs having figured big in Dion’s career, who would have guessed one would have held the answer to her very own need to ‘go on!’
