Wolf Blitzer on Jeopardy: Not Smart

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Despite hosting CNN's The Situation Room every single day, Wolf Blitzer may want to try reading and paying more attention to current (and past) events.

By the end of his turn on Celebrity Jeopardy last night, Wolf racked up an -$4,800. Yup, negative. Apparently trivia questions such as which town King David and Jesus are from - Wolf said Jerusalem, not Bethlehem - were too much.

Blitzer even made a reference to "Julia Childs," plural, and had one of his few correct answers belatedly stricken from the board. Now that's rough.

"Wolf, things did not work out as well as you'd hoped, I'm sure," said Alex Trebek, diplomatically, pitying Wolf a gift $1,000 to play Final Jeopardy with.

For reference, Andy Richter absolutely ate Wolf alive with $68,000, which went to his charity of choice, the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Fortunately for Wolf, his charity automatically got a minimum of $25,000, though it would be pretty funny if it had to cough up $4,800 to cover him.

Our dream Celebrity Jeopardy matchup would pit Jessica Simpson against Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Now that would be unintentional comedy.
