A lawsuit over a never-aired video of Heath Ledger has settled.
Jane Doe (fake name) sued the photo agency Splash News, and a few other men, over video that was shot of Ledger and others in Doe’s hotel room at the Chateau Marmont in 2006. The video was touted as Heath allegedly doing cocaine but we know …nowhere in the video do you see Heath doing drugs.
Doe maintained she did not take part in any drug use and the video was shot without her consent.
The video was eventually sold to “Entertainment Tonight.” The show promoted it but ultimately decided not to air it.
CNN.com reports William Balfour pleads not guilty today to the October killings of singer and actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and nephew. Balfour is the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia Hudson.
Balfour was indicted last month on three counts of first-degree murder for the Hudson deaths. He’s been held in the Stateville Correctional Center near Joliet, Illinois, since soon after his arrest in December. Investigators say Balfour shot Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King after a disagreement with his estranged wife Julia. His next court date is January 27.
Hudson competed on the third season of singing competition “American Idol” in 2004, becoming one of the top seven contestants before her elimination. After being eliminated she went on to win best supporting actress Oscar for her portrayal of Effie in the 2006 film version of the Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.” Hudson has not performed in public since the deaths, but the National Football League announced that she will perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

Jamie Foxx joked following the dance “You could tell that’s a black president from the way he was moving.” Obama cut loose in a faster groove a few minutes later, as Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Faith Hill and Mariah Carey sang along with Stevie Wonder to his “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” The song was played at nearly all of Obama’s rallies throughout the 2 year campaign. Mariah Carey also sang for the President. The singer was instroduced by her husband, Nick Cannon. She attempted to belt of her hit song “Hero,” and failed to do a good job at it. I was embarassed for her.
At the Obama Home States ball, Singer Sheryl Crow performed her appropriate hit, “A Change Would Do You Good.” Wyclef Jean had thousands of men at the Mid-Atlantic Ball take off their tuxedo jackets and swing them in the air to show their support for President Obama.
At the Youth Ball the Obamas danced awkwardly, laughing as they swayed while Kid Rock belted out songs in a rock-star reception. When they were done, the president grabbed a mic and said, “That’s what’s called old school.”
At the Midwestern Ball, he joked that it was time to “dance with the one who brung me, who does everything that I do except backwards and in heels.”
“Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers today, every day, forever,” Obama told troops at the Commander in Chief ball. “Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, the work begins. … Together, I am confident we will write the next great chapter in America’s story.”

Matt Dillon pleads not guilty today to a December 30 speeding charge, reports the AP (Associated Press). Dillon’s lawyer, Mark Kaplan of Burlington, entered the plea on his behalf.
Dillon was arrested and charged with criminal negligent operation. Police say they spotted the actor doing 106 miles per hour on an interstate highway with a 65 mile per hour speed limit. This is a misdemeanor offense that carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The Parents Television Council is warning parents about the Britney Spears song “If U Seek Amy” and urging radio stations not to broadcast it because the nonprofit organization believes it “would violate the broadcast indecency law” if aired between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Saying the title phrase quickly out loud produces a sound akin to spelling out the F-word, said PTC president Tim Winter. “There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it’s certainly not about a girl named Amy,” he said of the track, the third single from Spears’ new Jive album, “Circus.”
“It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly-owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience,” Winter says.
Founded in 1995, the PTC describes itself as “a nonpartisan education organization advocating responsible entertainment.” Jive was unavailable for comment on the PTC’s advisory.
The controversy isn’t stopping U.S. radio from playing “If You Seek Amy.” Six top 40 stations have the song in rotation this week, enough to place the track at No. 92 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. Leading the pack is WFLZ-Tampa, Fla., which has played it 19 times.
“We’re confident the version of the song we air is not crossing any lines,” program director Tommy Chuck told Billboard.com, adding that WFLX plays a Jive-created edit of the song that changes “Seek” to “See” as well as a jokey version in which morning host MJ shouts his name every time the word “Amy” appears.
Digitally, “Amy” has sold 107,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
